Shopping for your new horse can be a lot of fun, but often frustrating as well. Especially if you have decided, after surfing for weeks on the internet, to book your flight to The Netherland or Germany and eventually nothing worked out. You can do the shopping and travelling all by yourself, but often an agent or dealer is involved “helping” you to make the right choice.
We are a player in the market since many years and believe it is time to offer you an alternative. We know by talking to our clients and contacts, that trust and an open calculation means a lot to them. Not seldom, high margins are involved if you buy your horse. A “drink” for the trainer, a margin for the agent, a margin for the tipper … In some cases there are 3 – 4 people earning money on a horse-deal. It is therefore understandable more and more people are trying, with the help of the internet, to get in direct contact with both sales barns and private sellers in order to avoid those high mark-ups.
How does it work?
If you are serious client, prepared to travel, we can offer you our services to start with a detailed search-profile. It is important to understand what you are looking for and what you expect from the horse now, but also in the future. Age, gender and height are important, but last but not least a realistic idea of your budget. This makes all the difference ! A guideline can be found in the chapter "Service, Training, Buying Horses". It does not mean we will anticipate on your budget, meaning that the 30K horse will become a 50K horse. We intent to look for value for money. We will not put any margin on the price of the horse and you can and have to deal direct with the owner. Off course we can and will help you in this process. All you need to pay us is a 10% commission in case we will find you the right horse. This commission can often being returned in the negotiations. This means in some cases our service is almost free.
Search Profile
As soon as we have a good understanding what you’re really looking for, we will present you a selection of 6 – 10 horses. You will receive detailed information, including a video. You can even add horses you have found on the internet and include them in you “like to see and try-list”. If you are satisfied and anxious to try the horses, it is time to make your schedule for coming over. Don’t wait too long, because nobody is keeping the horses for you. After you have made a positive selection we will make all arrangements for you. We will keep you informed as eacht step is taken to getting your horse to you. From trail, to the pre-purchage exam (blood work and radiographs), to shipping arrangements, to quarantine in your country. We will be there with you through the entire process.
